## Advisor Style & Mentorship This PI treats Ph.D. student and postdoc (non-American) like shit. Here are just some "fun-facts": 1. Lured a Ph.D. student from China and then paid NOTHING for this student to work for this PI for two semesters! 2. Yelled to a Ph.D. student on the hallway for at least 30min for not giving him the experimental data he expected. 3. Asked a Ph.D. student to use the student's own car for sample pickup and delivery without reimbursing a penny. 4. Checked attendance in the lab very morning and requested students to be responsible to his email 24/7. 5. Asked for a daily report for new Ph.D. students and demanded to report every 30min's activities 6. Always asked the student to his office for a "deep" talk and a lot of times threatened to fire the student or not renew Visa. (There are more for sure that I don't realize)
## Expectations for PhD Students All PhDs are cheap labor. Has to do whatever he asks to do. Required students to be in the lab all the time except for taking a class (he would put a bunk bed for students in the lab if it's allowed).
## Funding & Support This PI is kissing ass to anybody he believes to be able to help him to get any funding. He always bregged about his capability to do everything even he knew nothing, as long as there is a chance to get funding. He doesn't care or respect anything as Acadamic Boundries.
## Research Biomaterials. Nothing super creative. Like most of other Chinese PIs, he just modified something and then claimed that's a breakthrough and promoted "the first report is the best report."
## Lab Culture Extremely toxic! He will ruin your academic and personal life for sure!
