He's mean, rude, racist, and misogynistic. He never takes students or postdocs seriously, especially the international ones and the female ones. He's ill-tempered and very narrow-minded. He doesn't listen to students' or postdocs' opinions. His English is not very good, and he once even tried to correct a native English speaker's English - it turned out he was wrong, and it was hilarious. His personality makes him a terrible mentor. He's an expert in organic synthesis and molecular design, but he's not very good at physical chemistry, even though he tries to call himself a photochemist/photophysicist. If you want to collaborate with him, you can trust his expertise in organic chemistry, but don't trust his expertise in physical chemistry or spectroscopy.
