**1. Advisor Style & Mentorship** He extremely likes to push students to do his projects with his idea; He is extremely demanding for students' research progress and outcomes; He is extremely mean when students have difficulties or any ideas deviated from his understanding. Moreover, he did not give most of his students any actual support for research, like tutorials, academic resources, GPU for deep learning, etc. He likes to blame his students for their faults but never be aware of his own deficiencies. Therefore, in every year there was one student left from his lab. Some students transferred to other programs and advisors, some quitted the Ph.D. Since he has been to academia during 2015-present, there was only one student (co-advised and did not mainly guide his dissertation) graduated. **2. Expectations for PhD Students** Like a postdoc, do not need support from him but can make great contributions :). Take less courses and do more research. **3.Funding & Support** The funding is very limited. ***He will threaten his students to cut off their fundings (asked a student to sign a contract) and kick off students he doesn't like by this***. And he will give you some very uncomfortable field trips without good accommodation. **4. Research** He does not have good connections in academia and does not collaborate with many other well-known researchers. His lab does not have productive research outcomes and publications. His Ph.D students typically could not publish any journal paper for a long time. **5. Lab Culture** Extremely nervous and uncomfortable. People work hard for him because they are afraid of him. No interesting communications between each lab member, only working schedules and research progress. Everyone is struggling.
